Citizens Safety Prevention of Violence & Delinquency
THE PROGRAM WOULD INVOLVE THREE SUBPROGRAMS: 1) STRENGTHENING URUGUAY'S INSTITUCIONAL CAPACITY FOR CRIME AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION, INCLUDING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND POLICE TRAINING IN PREVENTION AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS; 2) PROMOTING YOUTH AS VIOLENCE PREVENTERS, THROUGH ACTIONS BOTH WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM, AS WELL AS REHABILITATING YOUTH OFFENDERS; AND 3) SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY-BASED ACTIVITIES IN CRIME AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION.
