Support of Women's Leadership and Repr.
The objective of the program is to increase women's access to leadership positions in public and civic life and to increase women's civic participation in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The program will specifically pursue the following objectives: (i) to provide locally-based and other regional organization with the financial means to develop specific programs that will contribute to improve women's participation in public decision-making; (ii) to foster effective regional networks of organizations working on the issue of women and leadership and to facilitate linkages among women leaders and women's organizations from the region; and (iii) to encourage greater involvement of the donor community in the promotion of women's leadership in public and civic life in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
