Micronutrient Deficiency Reduction
To reduce, and to the extent possible, to eradicate malnutrition due to deficiency of Iron, Vitamin A, Iodine and other essential nutrients in the four countries of MERCOSUR, through coordinated projects in the four countries. Each national project would include some or all of the following components: epidemiologic surveillance, strengthening micronutrient supplementation for groups at risk; food fortification and compliance monitoring, health education and others.
