Tourism Sector Auxiliary Industry Fund

On April 3, 2002 the Donors Committee considered a proposal (MIF/AT-462) for an equity investment in the amount of $10 million to create a fund for small and medium-sized ancillary tourism enterprises in Mexico (the Fund or PYMEX). In 2002 the Donors Committee approved $7 million of the amount proposed by Management, with the understanding that it could consider an additional capital investment of $3 million for a second closing depending on the performance of the PYMEX by then. An additional investment of up to $3 million was requested to Management in 2004, based on the PYMEX Fund's performance, which is considered to be very positive.
