Decentralization & Local Government Strengthening
The objective of the project is to provide key logistical and policymaking support to the country's current decentralization and local government strengthening strategy, in three key areas: (1) implementation of critical path start up activities for the Decentralization and Local Government Strengthening Program (SU0019), currently targeted for Board approval during the the first semester of 2001; (2) organization and strengthening of local consultant pool, capable of providing capacity building services to local governments; and (3) assessement of legislative branch of local governments (District Councils).
