To increase information and knowledge on the tendencies and patterns of international migration in the Americas, as well as a better understanding of these causes; to explore the interrelationship between international migration and development including the impact on globalization and the introduction of new technologies; to analyze the economic, social and political consequences of migration on immigrants, their countries of origin and destination; to analyze and evaluate the present diplomatic initatives in multilateral immigration established aimed at stemming migrant flows and to promote international cooperation in this area.
