Bringing High Quality Affordable Hearing Aids to Low Income Populations in LAC

The general objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) project is to assist the participation of the private sector in providing solutions for the vast population lacking access to hearing devices technology and rehabilitation - is well-aligned with the OM mandate. The specific objective of the proposed TC is to conduct an study that will support the development of affordable solutions for hearing impaired populations in LAC. This study will seek to define effective methods for linking need/demand with the supply of affordable hearing devices and fitting systems, taking into consideration i) existing activities of public and private sector actors that can be leveraged to reach underserved low income populations, and ii) the human factor in the design elements through the study of psychological, social and cultural factors in order to design a more appropriate, successful product for the LAC Majority Markets.
