Informality, Productivity and Poverty
2.1 The objective of this operation is to work in coordination with the National Statistical Office (NSO) of the countries in the Region to improve the quality of their data on informal workers. It would focus on expanding the coverage of their data collection efforts by developing/fine-tuning instruments that allow them to provide a better picture of the informal sector of the economy. 2.2 The activities of the project would focus in three main areas: i) improvement of data collection instruments and processes (mainly household surveys); ii) widen data collection efforts to include micro enterprises and the informal sector; and, iii) comparative economic analysis of existing and new information.
