Improving Child Survival and Building Blocks for Social Safety Nets

The proposed project will serve as a two-prong approach towards improving: (i) child survival and public health nutrition; and (ii) building blocks for social safety nets. The project will focus on core early childhood and maternal interventions that form a fundamental base on which broader safety net interventions and policies can be built. The implementation strategy is intended to strengthen the Government¿s authority in health policy as well as their role as a key deliverer of basic health services. Importantly, by supporting the Nutrition Division of the MSPP, the program intends to strengthen the ministerial-level stewardship to improve the alignment of donors and development partners develop uniform reporting requirements to all development partners supporting the priority interventions.
