Exchange between El Salvador and Argentina on Policies for an Improved School to Work Transition

El Salvador is facing important challenges in the design of policies that would improve the school to work transition of their youngsters, and may limit their exposure to risky behaviors. Given the lack of those policies, an important share of the youth population does not work and does not study. The policy challenges come, at least partially, from the lack of a competence based curriculum in the education system that prepare youngsters for the labor market. Argentina has made important progress on creating a competence based curriculum with the participation of the private sector. Through the CT-INTRA, authorities from El Salvador will learn from the policies implemented in Argentina.
