The overall objective of the technical cooperation is to strengthen the institutional capacities of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) and member entities of the National Statistical System (NSS) to protect, provide access to, and disseminate business microdata for research purposes. The specific objectives are as follows: (i) Build capacities for the implementation of methodologies for anonymizing business microdata to facilitate their dissemination for research purposes; (ii) Transfer knowledge on international best practices for controlled access to business microdata through secure platforms; and (iii) Conduct a diagnosis of INEC's capabilities for the accessibility of economic statistics, specifically the access to business microdata, and propose recommendations for their implementation.
