Geological Knowledge for Development and Just Transition

The purpose of this technical cooperation project is to support geological data-gathering campaigns in Colombia to determine areas that may hold deposits of copper, a metal that is crucial to the energy transition and which Colombia is keen to extract and build a sustainable value chain. This is central to the country's efforts to shift its mining industry towards commodities that will be in high demand for the next decades, like copper, in support of global decarbonization efforts.
