General objective: Participatory formulation of a GEF medium-sized project proposal to support "New Models of Environmental Conservation based on Pira-Parana's Indigenous Traditional Knowledge in the Colombia Amazon" with the Traditional Authorities and communities of ACAIPI (Pirá Paraná basin), in the scope of Colombia's legal framework and its space for indigenous autonomic governance of their own territories. The specific objectives include: a) Assure the participation of the beneficiary population in the formulation of a Global Environmental Fund middle project that will support traditional knowledge models to enhance territorial governance based on forest and biodiversity conservation. b) Strengthen the institutional capacity of ACAIPI in project formulation and execution. c) Establish agreements for the coordination of responsibilities implied in the future execution of the Project between Fundación Gaia Amazonas (FGA) and ACAIPI.
