International experts to discuss potential future scenarios for water, energy, agriculture, and mining in Latin America

LAC 2025: The water-energy-food-mining nexus will be held on Monday, July 6th at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Headquarters in Washington D.C.

This event will include several sector-based scenarios, which could affect four strategic sectors for Latin America and Caribbean economies in the next 10 years.

LAC 2025 will feature audiovisual presentations by IDB specialists, and a panel of experts on water, energy, agriculture and extractive industries moderated by the IDB´s President, Luis Alberto Moreno.

The event will also include the presentation of Global Trends and Future Scenarios, a searchable platform that includes over 700 prospective studies on various issues on the development agenda, implemented by The Inter-American Dialogue with support from the IDB.

This presentation will feature the following speakers:

  • Michael Shifter, President, Inter-American Dialogue
  • Sergio Bitar, Senior Fellow, Inter-American Dialogue
  • Moises Naim, Columnist and Commentator
  • Matthew Burrows, Director, Strategic Foresight Initiative, Atlantic Council

This presentation will be open only to guests and press. Journalists covering the event will have the opportunity to meet informally with participants.
