Seminar: FINPYME: A Value-added Program for Sustained SME Growth

FINPYME is a comprehensive initiative that provides value-added services to enhance competitiveness and ensure the sustainable growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The objective of the seminar is to demonstrate that, by following best practices in various fields, SMEs can open the door to knowledge, technology, markets, and financing.

Seminar: Youth Bulge: Bomb or Bonus?

Latin America and the Caribbean is a young region, with an average age of about 27. Several countries of the region have experienced a youth population explosion. The aim of the panel is to demonstrate that it is vital to invest in young people, and that they are an asset to the region.

The panel’s objective is to evaluate PPPs carried out in Latin America and the Caribbean and to identify best practices and successful models in the region that have managed to strike a good balance for both governments and the private sector.

Seminar: Improving Infrastructure: A Requirement for the Future

In recent years, global competitiveness has been determined by nontraditional factors, such as logistics and transportation expenses. The IDB has supported investments in the private sector for ports and logistic parks, to enhance their productivity and contribute to sector development and innovation. The purpose of this panel is to evaluate the various private-sector initiatives financed by the Bank in the region. It will explore successful approaches and results obtained from improvements to transportation and logistics infrastructure.

The IDB, civil society, and governments: Creating new opportunities for collaboration

In recent years, the IDB has taken important steps to strengthen collaboration between the Bank and civil society in the region. The session will explore opportunities for collaboration among the IDB, Civil Society, and Governments through lessons learned and best practices in the areas of dialogue, consultation and information-sharing; public policy; and bank-financed operations.
