Colombian Finance Minister and IDB President to Open Meeting of Finance Ministers of the Americas and the Caribbean

Colombian Minister of Finance Mauricio Cárdenas and IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno will deliver opening remarks at the Fifth Meeting of Finance Ministers of the Americas and the Caribbean, to take place at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on Oct. 9.

The meeting, chaired by Minister Cárdenas, will examine current macroeconomic issues and strategies to address social challenges faced by the region.

Their brief opening remarks will be open to registered members of the media.The proceedings of the remainder of the ministerial meeting will be closed to the public.

However, at 6:15 p.m. Minister Cárdenas will hold a news conference, also at the IDB, to share the results of the meeting and to announce the country that will chair the group’s next meeting.
