The general objective of the Technical Cooperation (TC) is to support the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADS) in the technical and logistical coordination for the preparation and execution of the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) convene in Colombia between October and November 2024, and its corresponding protocols: the 11th Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (CP-MOP-11) and the 5th MOP to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of the Benefits Arising from their Utilization (NP-MOP-5). In the technical aspects of COP16, the IDB will support MADS in positioning innovative financial instruments for biodiversity conservation.
