Measurement, analysis and use of learning data in Latin America

The general objective is to contribute to the design of a high-quality regional measurement of learning in Latin America and to build capacity for the use and analysis of data and learning indicators in the countries of the region. The specific objectives are: i) Support the Latin American Laboratory for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education (LLECE) of the Regional Office of Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago) in the design of the regional test of ERCE 2025 learning through the High Level Consultative Committee (CTAN), in charge of guaranteeing that the test meets the highest international quality standards and ii) using the results of the ERCE 2019 and ERCE 2025 measurement to generate studies and indicators that allow analyze in depth the factors associated with student performance, allowing for a pre- and post-pandemic comparison. Priority will be given to the issue of inclusion when analyzing the differences in learning opportunities that affect children of lower socioeconomic status, girls, as well as students from indigenous peoples, who we know are the ones who have suffered the most learning losses during the closure of schools.
