Exploitation Geothermal Resources for Electricity Generation Projects

1. Update the national strategy for the development of geothermal energy for power production. 2. Evaluate alternative schemes for the public/private sector financing of the different stages of geothermal projects, increasing the role of private initiative over time through the design of new types of private concessions. 3. Design a training and organization plan to establish a new private sector negotiation window within the National Electrification Institute (INDE). 4. Develop a Full Project Brief preparing the next phase of this initiative, which will include investments in the development of a series of geothermal fields (well drilling and scientific tests at the prefeasibility and feasibility levels) as well as the implementation of plans and start-up of the private sector geothermal window within INDE.
