Extending Access to Financial Services in Latin America

The general objective is to identify viable solutions for improving access to capital for SMEs. On the basis of available information regarding best practices and identified issues, the roundtables will provide an opportunity for specialists to define effective activities that can be implemented to improve SMEs' access to credit. Areas of discussion will include collateral creation; collateral execution; capacity building within banking industry for SME lending; and knowledge building and dissemination for entrepreneurs, among other subjects that will be identified specifically for each of the planned roundtables. The final work will be presented during the Ibero-American Summit in 2006.
