Strengthening the Health System to Prevent and Manage Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases: Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases

The general objective of the project is to improve the health of the population through health promotion, prevention and management of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCCD), with emphasis on diabetes and hypertension in the Dominican Republic. The specific objectives are: (i) contribute to the reduction of the prevalence of risk factors (RF) of NCDs by expanding the coverage of interventions for the promotion of healthy habits and prevention of risk behaviors; and (ii) improve the care network for the timely diagnosis, treatment and management of NCDs.
